about
Gåte is set to enter the Eurovision Song Contest with the brilliant and enchanting song “Ulveham”!🖤
“Ulveham” is based on a medieval balled, and like other historical legends and songs it carries an important moral.
The song is a story of young maiden that undergoes a series of injustices, but by upholding justice and goodness, even in the toughest trials, she triumphs over evil forces and breaks the curse placed upon her.
lyrics
Ho svor meg einsam i skogjen gå
Og aldri blir eg heil og god
Før eg fær drukkje min broders blod

With their captivating performances and
groundbreaking mix of traditional folk and modern rock Gåte manages to interpret
and convey traditional folk songs to a whole new generation of listeners.
In 2020 the band chose to go back to their roots and dive into the vast traditional music history Norway has to offer.
Proving yet again that great music and great art endures....more
Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ
The songs are partly liberating to the point of floating freely, partly atmospheric or also grounded. Sometimes even both, which excites me the most. Thank you for this masterpiece. <3 Horst Feldmann
